Born on April 3, 1953 in Taylorville, Illinois, Mark was the son of Michael and Elsie Baccadutre. He married Carole Bishop on September 22, 1973 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville. Mark worked as a coal miner for many years, and later at waste management. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, beekeeping, woodworking, and in his younger years he was an avid fisherman and hunter. Mark was a wonderful storyteller and always had a joke to share.

She loved volunteering for Meals on Wheels, she was an assistant Brownie Troop leader and worked with the West School PTA. Mary loved to play bridge and belonged to several different bridge groups. Mark will be cremated and there will be a celebration of life held at a later date.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Marsaglia; brothers, Bob, Bryon, Lyle, and William Beaty; and sister, Marjorie “Peg” Beaty. After high school, she worked for My Store, before serving as a custodian for the First United Methodist Church of Taylorville and the Taylorville Public Library for over 36 years. Martha enjoyed cooking and entertaining, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. S. Army during World War II reaching the rank of First Lieutenant. Leo then attended the University of Illinois at Urbana where he received his BA and Master in agriculture, and received his doctorate from Cornell in animal nutrition. He worked in the animal nutrition industry for Proctor & Gamble, Central Soya, and finally as Senior Vice president of Research and Specialty Products for National Molasses Company.

John Thomas Hartwig

Mark was loved by everyone who came across his path and he will be dearly missed. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard “Ricky” Bush; brother, Jim Enlow; and daughter, Sue Sumpter. Shirley was an extraordinarily hard worker, and nothing could be too clean. She enjoyed a good game of BINGO, but most of all she loved her family. Shirley loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was born on September 26, 1974 in Springfield to Joseph Cavatorta, Jr. and Florence Lou Verda “Verdie” Cavatorta. He married Jordan Lefever on October 12, 2013 in Navarre Beach, FL in a beautiful beach ceremony surrounded by friends and family. At 17, he started his first business, Three C’s Collectibles, with his father in Taylorville, IL. At 36, he opened Crossroad Car Connection in Shelbyville, IL and ran it successfully for ten years. He was very proud of both businesses and loved being his own boss. He was also active in education, working with special-needs children and later as a substitute teacher at Central A&M, where he often ran into his daughter in the halls long enough for a quick hug.

She had a beautiful voice, and was an equally talented seamstress, sewing anything she could. Arlene will be remembered for her “Holiday Haircuts”, and excellent cooking, especially lasagna, enchiladas, and blonde brownies. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

Joey was a knowledgeable and talented musician – songwriter, guitar player, and singer. He recorded an album of original songs with the band Can’t Imagine and co-founded the band The Remedy with friends, going on to play with them for 17 years. He was a great collector of vinyl and had a vast knowledge of rock, classical, and jazz.

Charles Roy Nielsen, 92, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Taylorville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Baptist Health East Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He married Wilma Kathryn Eminger on June 15, 1958 in Gibson City, Illinois and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2016. Mr. Nielsen proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in agriculture and went on to work his entire career as a District Conservationist with the USDA, retiring in 1988. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, having served on the Board of Elders and Congregation President. He and Wilma enjoyed square dancing, and he served as Past President of Twist & Twirl Square-dance Club.

Herb served the Taylorville community in different capacities throughout his lifetime. He was the co-founder of Keep Taylorville Beautiful, in 1991 he launched the veteran’s monument at the corner of Park & Webster, he served as alderman for several years and he later retired from the street department. Herb was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, family historian, neighborhood handyman and a beloved friend to his FL snow bird families.

In retirement he continued in the animal nutrition field as a sales consultant. His work travels and his experiences in Italy during the war grew to include a lifetime of personal travel adventures throughout the world and the United States. She loved her family and grandchildren and will miss them all so much. This is the fee for the services the funeral home will provide during a funeral or memorial service.
